CreativeCon 2024

Here's a smattering of photos from CreativeCon Yuma 2024, a trade show for authors, artists, crafters--even singers, dancers, and tattooists. Last year the event was solely for authors, but the director opened it up to all kinds of creatives this year.

Check out the poster I had made. I love how it turned out! My table was situated right by the stage, which was awesome and kept me entertained the whole day in-between talking to people. I wanted to sit to the side/in front of the table (rather than behind it) for better socializing, and I would definitely recommend this.

Pictured here is my lovely assistant, always keen to give me a hand. In fact, he was the one who'd heard about CreativeCon and urged me to do it. (As a side note, I was able to purchase some more author copies at a slightly discounted price. Copies purchased directly from me are now $15.)

I'm happy with how the display turned out.

As you can see, there were a wide variety of displays and talents. Booths were set up in the main room as well as the hallways.

I'm glad I participated in my first "trade show" type event as an author, and I hope to find more opportunities like it. Will I participate in this one next year? It kind of depends on the location. The hotel where it took place was a little off the beaten path, and patrons had to come to that specific location to attend. Whereas if it had been at a downtown location where there's already a lot of foot traffic, I think we would've been able to reach more people. The event was downtown last year, but it was only for authors, so I'm not sure there is a downtown option that will accommodate a large group like this one.
